Dr Abdulkarim Ekzayez - King's College London, London, UK

Dr Abdulkarim Ekzayez speaks to ecancer at the R4HC meeting at King's College London about the capacity to research health in conflict settings.

This project will look at not only the healthcare during conflict, the provision of health services during conflict, but also to determine what are the factors, the political and economic factors, that could affect the provision of healthcare in conflict settings. These determinants could define the way healthcare is designed and healthcare is delivered and accessed by populations affected by conflict.

In order to do this we need to understand the current capacity of researching health in conflict settings and then we need to identify the gaps in this capacity in order to know how to build this capacity in order to have better understanding of the determinants of healthcare in conflict.
